Primary Purpose of Position

The Restaurant Supervisor oversees front of the house operations in the restaurant. The Restaurant Supervisor will ensure consistent, superior service and food, stepping into all positions in the restaurant as necessary. They are responsible and have the authority to take care of immediate guest and staff issues. The Restaurant Supervisor will comply with, and enforce all hotel/restaurant policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Supervise staff during a shift to ensure greatest guest satisfaction
Help with promoting and planning for both regular business and special events
Work with kitchen staff to make sure food is being prepared in an organized and timely manner
Welcome guests into the restaurant and understand their needs and expectations, seating preference, dietary needs, and relaying any of these needs to their server
Assist in controlling labor costs
Perform daily opening and closing procedures
Enter Engineering and IT issues into HotSOS and follow up to ensure issues are corrected in a timely manner
Handle inventory matters monthly, get to accounting in a timely manner
Act as host, expeditor, busser, and any other position necessary to insure the restaurant is running at its best potential
Continual training with staff, keep them informed with menu knowledge, 86 list, wine knowledge, tableside service techniques

Education/Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required
Minimum 2 years of restaurant supervisory experience desired
Minimum 2-5 years of restaurant serving or bartending experience required, ideally in a resort/hotel setting
Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
Degree in Business or Restaurant Management preferred

Special Skills/Equipment

Strong wine and liquor knowledge
Strong organizational skills
TIPS certification preferred
ServSafe certification preferred
Prior experience with POS system preferred
Efficient with computers, Microsoft Office, and web-based systems
Ability to work under minimal supervision; self-motivated & self-starter

Essential Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for full length of shift, up to 12 hours at one time
Ability to regularly carry up to 40 lbs
Should be prepared to work long hours and a variable schedule, to include evenings, holidays and weekends
